Years ago, we took a road trip to visit relatives in a farm community in upstate NY. There I met this friendly pig (I like to think of him as Humphrey). He lived in a small rural town filled with lush, towering trees and green, rolling hills. Humphrey was fed organic vegetables from a small garden and goods from the local bakery. His home was roomy and allowed him to be outside enjoying the sun or shelter from the elements. As we visited, the golden, summer sun sparkled through the leaves and shone on him. It was beautiful and I was inspired to paint his portrait.
Watercolor was my first love. I no longer paint in this style but I had great enjoyment with splashing color around to show the beauty of that moment with Humphrey the pig in the golden summer sun.
