What we’ll be talking about: The Flipper

This is another piece I created for Ultimate Werewolf Extreme by Bezier Games, LLC. Their Kickstarter for the game is up and running this August (2020).

During our virtual meetup, I’ll talk about the steps taken to create the final art, and do a little demo. The plan is to record this session and later make the recording available to Patrons at the $15 level and other tiers.

I admit it, I was a bit disappointed we couldn’t bring a cow into Dave’s photo studio. Probably best for the cow.

Thanks to Libby Ashpool for posing!

My first go-to when I think cow is the iconic black and white Holstein. But were they around in the 17th century in the eastern part of what’s now North America?

Fun fact: according to Holstein Association USA, Holsteins were imported to North America in the 1850s. Based on this information, I looked at many other breeds of cattle to see if I could figure out what type of cow might be around in the colonies in the 17th century. Maybe Durham, Ayrshire, Guernsey, Jersey, Brown Swiss, Ayrshire, Dutch Belted. I narrowed it down to the reddish coat breeds because the color contrasted well with the greenish-blue of the night village background. We went with a patterned cow because it looked much more interesting.

Fun fact #2: cows can have horns, it just depends on the breed.

I hope to see you soon!
